New York has served us extraordinarily well as the host city for our flagship course over the past several years (and we’ll be back!) but the pull of The Rock was too strong for us to ignore. #TTCAlcatraz is coming November 13th-16th, 2017.
If you’ve been to one of our courses in the past, you know to expect a whirlwind of meducational goodness not seen at any other conference within the world of medicine. But this year’s course is like nothing you’ve ever seen. We’ve again recruited an all-star cast of world-renowned educators, but this year we’re adding 4 preconference workshops that you won’t want to miss. All of the preconference workshops will be held on Monday, November 13th, with the main course to follow from November 14th thru 16th.
We’re extremely excited to announce a new partnership with TTC alum Haney Mallemat (@CriticalCareNow) and his brand new presentation design course, Keynotable. Keynotable is a workshop-style course specifically designed for medical professionals who want to give effective, engaging, and inspiring presentations.
This workshop-style preconference will cover every step you need to deliver powerful presentations. Working in both small and large groups, you’ll interact with course faculty and your colleagues to learn the skills necessary to brainstorm your idea, design your slides, and deliver your presentation.
Keynotable will host 2 half-day workshops. You can take one and combine it with one of the other preconference workshops below, or you can take both the morning and afternoon sessions.
For more information about Keynotable check out their website.
Soon to be its own independent course, we’re launching The Learning Course (TLC) at #TTCAlcatraz. A first in medical education, TLC will show you how to use cutting-edge learning principles and theories to most effectively learn any new topic of your choosing. If you’re an educator, you’re a learner, and if you’re attending #TTCAlcatraz, you’ll want to be at The Learning Course.
Trying to use all of that #FOAMed goodness to your advantage but work in a traditional academic setting? We’ve got you covered with SoMe2 – Social Media and Medical Education. With SoMe2, you’ll learn how to use social media and #FOAMed effectively within an academic setting, both in terms of incorporating content into curriculum design and in how to best use your social media presence and contributions to advance your career.
And no matter what role you play in the healthcare setting, we know that you’re impacted by stress, burnout, and mental illness in one way or another. This has been an issue for years, but now it’s time to stand up and recognize how it affects us, our colleagues, and our families. If wellness is important to you – and it should be – you’ll want to be there for the launch of ZenMed in November.
Think of The Teaching Course as a medical education, social media, and digital media extravaganza designed for any healthcare professional looking to make a difference in the world of their learners. Whether you're a physician, nurse, medic, or student, The Teaching Course is for you.
The Teaching Course Faculty are what set us apart. We've gathered world-renowned educators known for their enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate approach to medical education.

Why We're Awesome
You could say it's because of the learner-centered approach we take to designing the curriculum, the extensive interactivity and energy built into every lecture and workshop, or even the opportunity to network with a group of like-minded individuals. But really, it's because of YOU!
